Sports Massage £50 1hr(+15mins for 1st Appointment)

This is for sporting and non sporting injuries, general aches and pains or for those who have conditions that massage will help with. During your initial appointment we will go through a short consultation and then I will carry out a postural assessment and range of movements to identify any problem areas. This will allow us to decide on an appropriate treatment plan for you. I can incorporate as part of the treatment the use of Myofascial Cupping, Trigger point Therapy, Hot Stones to warm muscles or Kinesiology Taping (K-Tape) when I feel there would be a benefit and in agreement with you the client. More details about these are below. Aims of the treatment will be to reduce pain and improve any restrictions in range of movements.

Trigger Point Therapy

The objective of trigger point therapy is releasing or softening a muscle knot to reduce (or eliminate) the knot pain and associated pain. This release happens by applying various levels of pressure to muscle knots, and then stretching the affected areas through a complete range of motion.

Myofascial Cupping

Myofascial Cupping is a modified version of the ancient Eastern style cupping which differs by specifically targeting the MusculoSkeletal system rather than the meridian systems used by traditional Chinese practitioners. It also uses plastic cups and vacuum suction rather than glass cups and a naked flame to create suction. A hand operated vacuum pump is used to induce a vacuum inside a cylinder sealed to the skin using oil or cream.

The vacuum "draws" the soft tissue up and causes blood flow and oxygen to come into the area.

Cupping can help with:-

Musculoskeletal Pain & Injuries

Sporting Injuries, especially ITB Syndrome & Plantar Fasciitis

Neck and Back Pain

Muscle Strains and Sprains

Muscle Imbalances and Tightness

  • Increases nutrient-rich blood supply to injured area

  • Increases fluid movement which assists in recovery ie; decreased oedema (fluid

    accumulation)

  • Creates a negative (tensional) pressure which, passively stretches myofascial tissue,

resulting in increased ROM (Range Of Motion)

  • Assist in reduction of localized inflammation and aids recovery

  • Breaks Up and Expels Congestion

  • Ideal for people for whom the insertion of acupuncture needles poses a problem or

    risk

Kinesiology Taping (K-Tape)

This tape can stretch allowing it to be applied in many ways. It gently allows the free flow of blood and lymphatic fluid to cleanse and heal the inflammation without the use of medications or surgery. This special tape helps to improve circulation, support muscles, allow the internal injury to heal, and help prevent further muscle injury while still allowing motion. It is not restrictive like medical white tape. Benefits include:-

1.Reducing Swelling and Inflammation

2.Create Spaces in Joints

3.Improve Blood and Fluids Circulation

4.Stimulate Bruise and Contusion Recovery

5.Prevent and Relieve Muscle Spasms and Cramping

6.Accelerate Muscle Recovery

7.Support Injured Muscles

8.Guarantee Comfort

9.Reduce Risk of Injury

10.Move Freely

11.Improve Muscle Tone and Strength

Although I add this as part of a treatment, should you require just taping the please get in contact as I can assist with this at a cost of Â£10.
